Swallows And Amazons Adventure

core/modules/blog/templates/img/avatars/polaroid-rob.gif

2nd & 3rd August 2010 – a real Swallows and Amazons family adventure for a dad and his four children.  We set off in an open canoe, a double sea kayak and a number of single sea kayaks with three guides (we always have a high guide ratio when taking out young children and try to ensure a female guide). A short paddle to a secluded beach for an afternoon of hole digging, rock pooling, swimming and tribal rituals. Dad and the teens were able to do some paddling skills while the younger children were cared for. All food was provided – including bananas and chocolate to roast in the fire and marshmallows to toast on sticks - those we could rescue from the hot chocolate!
