Lundy Crossing Training Session

14th January 2010

Last night was the first training session for a group of Braunton girls (including myself !) who are aiming to paddle to Lundy later this year to raise money for charity.

This all came about one morning whilst drinking coffee after dropping our kids off at school. We were discussing arranging a pleasant evening paddle sometime in the summer and it very quickly (and i'm not sure how !) evolved into "why don't we paddle to Lundy ?" I might add at this point that some of our lovely group have never sat in a sea kayak before.  So that was that - a new challenge for the year, all decided over quick cup of coffee ! Our training began last night and with excitement and a few nerves, we gathered at Ilfracombe pool. Rob ran a great session, lots of fun and games and capsizing. A good time was had by all and we are all looking forward to our next session.
